A Chocolate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a rare color variation of the typical Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed. This coat color is nearly extinct. Before modern DNA testing, finding the rare Chocolate gene was the breed's biggest challenge. The Chocolate Cavalier King Charles Spaniel carries the recessive b locus (brown) gene.

The rare Chocolate hue in these spaniels is tied to the old Pargeter bloodline, renowned for producing some of the breed's longest-lived dogs, some surpassing 19 years. This lineage has captivated enthusiasts and breeders alike, drawing attention to the breed's remarkable coat color and impressive lifespan.

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a delightful and adored breed celebrated for its loving personality and graceful looks, boasts a long and extensive history dating back centuries.
